A vibrant resort community of like-minded people is rising here — where more than 2,000 homes will have access to innovative lakeside amenities. At the heart of it all lies the landmark Caribbean Bay, with clear blue waters and white sand — a taste of the seaside just steps away. The community is also home to Oklahoma’s most inspired 18-hole golf course, and a full-service marina that offers access to some of the finest boating and fishing in the nation.

“The vision for Pointe Vista is a source of deep pride for us. The masterplan brings everything we love about Lake Texoma to life – plus a whole lot more for the next generation in the years to come.”

FROM WINDING RIVERS TO A LEGENDARY LAKE

TEXOMA'S STORIED PAST

What is now Lake Texoma was once the meandering valley of the Red River. The area was first peopled by several tribes such as the Caddo, Apache, and Arapaho, and later by the Choctaw and Chickasaw, and the land was cultivated throughout the 19th century. In those early years, farms in the region were often inundated by floodwaters, a challenge for generations.

When Roosevelt’s Depression-era infrastructure projects began in the ‘30s, dams for flood control and hydroelectricity were a focus. The Denison Dam, which created Lake Texoma, was completed in 1944. The world’s first rolled earthfill dam, it was a crowning achievement for postwar progress in the region.

FRESHWATER FOREVER: LAKE TEXOMA TODAY

From striped bass to all-day sailing, wake surfing to watching sunsets – Lake Texoma is our waterfront dreamscape.

Lake Texoma today is a major destination for the region. The fishing here is unbeatable in what is often called the “Striper Capital of the World.” Marinas, slips, and refueling stations abound along the shoreline. Party islands — small sandy islands perfect for flotillas with friends — define the vibe here. Luxury RV camping, shoreline picnics, and long hiking paths complete the picture. Texoma today is a place to sink into the moment – with a warm heartland vibe.
